Questions we get asked first

Is this a replacement for cellular or internet?
No, and we will say so plainly. Mesh carries short messages and telemetry over long distances at very low power. It does not carry video calls or web browsing. It is the channel that still works when the others do not, and the channel that reaches where they never did.
How far does one hop actually go?
Line of sight, kilometres — we have seen far more with height on both ends. Through bush and buildings, considerably less. That range is exactly why we model coverage before anybody buys hardware: the honest answer depends on your terrain, not on a number in a brochure.
Do I need a radio licence?
No. MeshCore runs in licence-free spectrum, so there is no licence, no carrier contract and no SIM to pay for.
What happens if a node fails?
The mesh routes around it. That is the whole point of the topology — a failed node is a detour rather than an outage, and adding nodes makes the network more resilient rather than more congested.
Can you work with hardware we already own?
Usually. If you have MeshCore-compatible radios already deployed we can survey what you have, map the coverage you are actually getting, and tell you what adding or moving nodes would buy you.
Do you work with LoRaWAN as well as MeshCore?
Both, and point-to-point LoRa besides. They solve different problems — many sensors in a fixed catchment want LoRaWAN, resilience with no infrastructure wants a mesh — and we are equally happy building either, which is what makes the recommendation worth something.
Do we have to use Maple Wireless Cloud?
No. The protocol is open and the network is yours. The Cloud platform makes a fleet easier to manage, but a network we build for you will keep running whether or not you subscribe to anything.
